Can anyone beat this?

First match of the season tonight after a number of cancellations.

Crap day at work, mad trip to the ground in rush hour traffic, change, we loose the toss and are asked to bat.

Open the batting at No.1 and I'm given out LBW first ball of the match in my first match of the season. Been out first ball of a match once before but not first ball of the season.

Bit disappointed but also a bit proud as another first chalked up today at 50 years of age and in my 27th season opening the batting for my club.

I bloody love cricket.  :)

Makes me feel slightly better about my goldie 1st game I the season, awful feeling walking off after that!  :(

Woo Hoo! The sun is out and I've got a game today against Guildford City - can't wait.

Good luck everyone.

Had my first net session batting only on thursday  after the surgery I had last October. Was very very tentative at any ball on my legs or near my foot.Im still a few months off playing as Im not sure when I can start running but at least now I seem to be going in the right direction.

Had a top of table clash today, turned up we chose to bowl on a nice green top! Took a couple of early wickets, then rolled them for 20! Managed to get myself 5, other opener got 4 and a run out! Back to back 5 wicket hauls for myself

Made a tough 25 on a mud pile in a t20 chasing.
Had to pick up rate and was stumped.

Played in a match today which was played in the right way by both sides. Lost the toss and put into bat on a dodgy track we scored 204 all out off 44 overs opposition were 40 for 5 and then all out for 163 off 34 overs. And the sun was out all day.

5 runs and then bowled by a left arm inswinging delivery which clipped my pads and went onto the stumps. Gutted to say the least, and its definitely an area of my batting I need to improve on, especially as an opening bat.
Nearly lost my batting glove aswell as I kicked it in frustration and nearly landed on the roof of the clubhouse  :-[

First game today for me (also first game as skipper) stuck the oppo in and bowled them out for 170 and then chased it down losing 8 wickets. First bat since the end of winter nets and top scored with 36 so a pretty decent day at the office

We were 226 all out, I got 5 batting at 10 before getting LBW (off my glove)

Then bowled 10 overs and took 4-36. We won by 19 runs and took maximum points so a good start to the season.

After 2shocking league displays with the bat as a team we got our act together today. Managed 184 on a brand new pitch away it Roebucks in Bromley, lovely ground and in a few years pitch will be a beauty just too much inconsistent bounce. Personally I managed 23 in 22 overs opening up. Was nice to spend decent time at the crease but annoying I must have pinged 15 odd shots out the screws straight at fielders.

We bowled them out for 161 to register first win of the season, kept ok today but no edges which I think is a first in quite a while. Most seemed to walk or play around straight balls.
