Well done buddy, Shane Warne top scored with 99 so not a bad thing.

If it makes you feel better in got out on 99 twice and loads of times in the 90's

Bowled 26 overs. Took 6-72.

I am absolutely exhausted now and I am glad our batsman knocked off the 175 we needed without me having to bat.

Night all :)

You bowled 26 overs? What league are you to do that in?

I think they play timed cricket in some premier leagues, which means no restriction on overs.

I'm shattered after 10 overs today so can't imagine bowling 26!

I'm surprised there are leagues or there that allow one bowler to bowl for half an innings. It means you can field a very unbalanced team...

I think they play timed games to encourage captains to think and have to take wickets, rather than go hell for leather for 50 overs and then set a defensive field from the off.

I think only half the matches are timed so you can't put a side out with 2 bowlers and 9 batsmen every week.

We won the toss and opted to bowl first. Opposition had a loan player who normally plays about 5 divisions higher and he really took the fight to us and scored 133 out of 247-4. However some of our fielding was truly abysmal including one U18 who chickened out of trying to catch a dolly. I can accept players who drop catches but not even to try really ****ed me off. The guy who scored 133 was dropped about 5-6 times, twice off my bowling and then next over he just started trying to cart me all over the place.

My match then got even worse as I opened, got a single off second ball of our innings then didn't score another run in the next 10 overs before getting bowled. Problem is I seem to have forgotten how to hit the ball although to my defence I couldn't physically reach well over half of the deliveries I faced. Last season I played a 20/20 early May, hit a couple of 6s in a very quick 25 in a match we won and that gave me the confidence to take an aggresive attitude into Saturdays.

Anyhow during the winter I did some recruitment and the 3 new players I brought in got 89, 35 and 29 and with some useful low order contributions we actually overhauled the opposition's total with 2 balls to spare. Last two seasons, we struggled to post even 150 on Saturday and I don't know who was more shocked that we won, the opposition or me?

Well this season so far for me has been:

Didn't get to bat or bowl in my first match, we won by 10 wickets.

The next match I didn't get to bowl, and got out for a golden duck by LBW while batting at 5.

Next match got rained off.

Hopefully I'll actually get something decent on the board in the up and coming match.

Delighted to get the chance to open the batting for the 1's yesterday. We lost the toss and were stuck in. Me and my partner put on 58 for the first wicket, I contributed a patient 18, before I was done by their left armer (3 nipping across 4th one swinging on to toe end!!). We somehow then collapsed from 98-2 when the other opener was out to 131 all out with some very poor shot selection from the lower middle order. Defending such a low score we were always up against it and didn't help ourselves by dropping both openers before the score was 10!! Went on to lose by 7 wickets. All in all a disappointing day but we have a cup game this afternoon so chance to bounce back straight away.

The Thames Valley Cricket League

52/48 split. I bowled through.

Fitness was a bit dodgy going into the last 5...
