No game for my team this week to a bye week in the league.  Just as well as its pissing down and I also feel like death! Chesty cough, etc etc...manflu....

Playing winter cricket in brisbane
chasing 160 it was down to me (number 7) and our number 9 to do it
chased down 50 overs in 4 overs with 4 balls to spare.

Round here it's been too wet all morning. Even though the rain has stopped the ground is squidgy as hell!

Wouldn't be the best wicket or outfield etc but we could have played a reduced game. Say 35/40 over a side.. Shame people are to quick to call things off.

Weather is seriously taking the Mickey now. From 2pm onwards it's been dry warm and sunny.

Played today and got a thumping history under our belts. The new covers and ground work over the last couple of years with drainage is paying off. Reducd the game to 36 overs a side and batted first. 2nd week in a row been given caught behind when I didn't hit it bat just brushed my pad but missed it by a country mile. Anyway scored 9 personally and we amassed 190-5.

Oppo were reduced too 5-3 courtesy of an amazing one handed catch behind the stumps glad our opener is sharp as I was standing 16 yards back and took it infront of 2nd slip not sure ill ever take a better catch. In truth they were awful and we knocked them over for 44 in 18 overs. So that's 2 wins on the bounce and puts us top of the league at the moment although a long long way to go.

Making my captaincy debut tomorrow for Chalfont St Giles Academy, head of colts is at a wedding so I am doing the job as I work with several of the age groups. Our u13s had to re-arrange a match for tomorrow so I lost some of them, and now have a really unbalanced team with loads of batting, and only one specialist bowler. And there I was hoping for a relaxed game stood at slip, looks like I will be turning my arm over a bit. Needs must! Were puddles on the outfield whilst the rain was at its heaviest today, but our place drains quite fast so fingers crossed!

rained all day and the only other weekend i can play league this season is when we have a bye week as one team pulled out at the start of the season.

looks like i stuck with t20 and lms
