Can't understand how you don't have neutral umpires in a high standard league like that. We have them in our poxy village league!

Hugely frustrating game yesterday. Managed to throw away a winning position bowling first, getting the opposition 80-8 before number 9 slogged 41 to get them to 141. We then crumbled to lose the game by 30 odd runs.

On a personal note,  probably my best spell of bowling to date, 10-3-19-3 along with three dropped catches (two were dolly's). Bowled my ten overs straight as I was swinging and seaming the ball away from the right handers hugely,  too much at times. Batting wise, I got 8 before a picked out the old guy at square leg off a leg stump half volley. Actually felt alright with the bat today and the Salix went very nicely.

Another week, another batting collapse. Lucky we have a strong bowling unit and rolled them for 100

We won again, I got 2 wickets but bowled terribly, they had a let handed come in and take everything from outside off to leg! Had him dropped as well so. But only lost one game so far so, we are going well

What number do you bat at buddy, as i want to bat 3 but struggle with either getting bogged down or trying to score to quick and being out to a bad ball, any advice

We bagged first on a soggy deck yesterday, posting 183-6 from 50 overs.

The wicket fried out and batting became easier (but I was getting it to turn square). Opposition chased them down for the loss of 7 wickets.

Personally I bowled 10 overs, 1 maiden 3-27.
Deflated feeling to have bowled well and be on the losing side!  :(

I bat at 4.

Always try and bat to the situation if you can. Never look further than than the ball which is about to be thrown down at you. Runs come easier the longer you're in.

People forget there is always more time that you actually think and even getting one a ball isn't a bad thing. If it's a good ball
And you have to defend it, so be it.

Plenty of better bats on here than me mate but if you need any more advice just drop me a PM

feel for you Chris. Agree that club umpires generally seem to cheat and player appealing when they know it's not out isn't really in the spirit. As for the facilities.. well, that's why leagues should have set standards and dock massive pts for any team that can't put out basic facilities like covers, sightscreens etc.
Our pitch that we rent for our third team has covers and sight screen. They bought them with a grant. We are in div 8, not many teams above can match that.

Did not help us we lost after being bowled out for 96. I was out for 4, dug in while wickets fell around me. Saw off opening bowlers then swung at a real pie and was given out lbw by a rookie umpire team mate. Later when umpiring I realised the ball that got me more than likely pitched outside leg!

Went top of the League yesterday.

Unbeaten since week one.

134 for 8 us, then bowled them out for about 60.

22 and 3 victims personally so not too bad.
