Fund Raising Ideas
« on: April 15, 2014, 10:47:50 AM »

We already have a couple of plans for this season to raise money for new nets (24 hour net, annual 6 a side, etc etc)

Any clubs had some very original ideas that raised a lot or new ideas?  Could probably do with a couple more events!

I think there was a thread along these lines last year if you do a search.

Anyway

Race night
casino night
100 club
bonus ball
raffle
fate
fireworks night
summer BBQ's after games/nets
Maybe do a 'player of the day' or 'cricket is the winner moment'.. everyone pays 50p a week to enter and if they get nominated they get a free drink or something random (as your bar can cough up a free drink for peanuts)
family days - so father vs sons or lefties vs righties, mums and daughters etc etc

loads of stuff. Good luck getting anyone to arrange it or even help though!

Quite easy to make yourself:

Make an excel sheet with 20 names on. (international players, football teams etc etc)

Sell the squares off a £1 or £2/square after a game. Then get the oppo captain to pick one of the squares out the hat, winner gets £5 or a free drink and the rest goes to the club. Might only make £15/game but over the season that  will equate to a couple of hundred pounds. And it's free to run if you borrow works printer.

Sell the numbers from 00-99. Can sell for what ever price and whoever buys the number has it for the season. Then on a Saturday whatever the team score is the owner of the number wins a prize.

Eg final home team score is 176-9 then whoever has 76 wins.

Or you could combine the 1st and 2nd team score to ensure there's no cheating.

Could price each number at £10 which will give you £1000 then take out of that a reasonable prize (say 5 free drinks) which is worth the £10 investment and the club takes the rest.

20 games a season with a £10 prize each week is £200 giving £800 profit.

Do a 100 club with each number costing £5 a month paid by dd. Monthly draw with 50% of the proceeds going in prizes and 50% returned as funds to the club.

Plenty of ideas on these links.

Fund raising idea 2:2 on that list: Doughnut eating competition.

If you go for that you might want to keep it quiet from this forum. I'd turn up and eat your club into debt! I doubt i'd be alone either.

Once had our rugby school manager force me to eat 11 Jam dougnuts cos he caught fat little me taking a 2nd. still love Jam doughnuts to this day!

with the world cup on the horizon why not have a score prediction within the club, winner takes 50% of the takings and the club has the rest. We raised over £200 for something quite easy to do and its £200 less than we'd have had if we'd done nothing!

Buy a Ferrari, Aston etc say for £150,000, take it to your nearest airport and flog tickets for £100 each, sell 3,000 and you've doubled your cash ;)
