A couple of little refurbs
« on: April 20, 2014, 02:07:38 PM »

Had a couple of bats to repair for lads at out club. First is a Bradbury sterling 500 I think its 4 years old used by number 10. The other is a Warsop platinum at 3lb 4oz again is 4 years old and was delaminated. Used by a big lad who hits the ball super hard and super long.

Basically I did these at home just using a sander and then by hand using 80, 120 and 180 grit sand paper. Glued all the cracks on the Bradbury, sanded, oiled and applied new scuff sheet and grip.

Warsop was the same but I have tried to fix the delamination. Used an old knife to lift the wood applied lots of wood glue mixed with some very fine wood shavings, then clamped using a couple of pieces of wood cut to door wedge shapes. Left for a couple of days. And then sanded, oiled and taped edges and applied scuff and grip.

I only did refurbs to the blades and edges of these bats as they both wanted to keep the stickers and actually both are in very good condition with no stud marks etc. just a few pics to keep me busy on a wet Easter Sunday.
