Hi guys, havent been on here for a while but first game was last week and bat has a bit of damage. Im not sure whether it just needs a sanding down and then a new scuff sheet, or whether it needs glueing, clamping etc?

Ive literally just taken the scuff sheet off. Probably should have done it over the winter but didnt get round to it. Going to sand and wax the whole face anyway after dealing with the crack

Get some watered down glue in there, sand it down and a decent coat of oil or 2 needed there I'd say.

That needs to be glued i would use unwatered PVA apply weight leave to dry then sand remove residue and apply scuff firmly.

If you are planning on clamping on it which I would recommend using a string would be easier to amply pressure to the edge due to the shape of a bat. Butchers twine is ideal

Right, I've got rid of the excess residue from the scuff sheet and given the fact a sanding. I've filled the crack with pva and am going to clamp it then let it dry. Sand a little bit more at the weekend. Then wax and apply new scuff sheet.

I've done one very similar to this recently and just slipped some pva in and then tightly wrapped some wide masking tape around as opposed to a clamping. Wasn't sure but it seemed to apply ample pressure, the masking tape didn't rip the grains out when removing and it turned out nicely!

All sound advice, I'd personally use grip off cuts to clamp the crack while the glue sets.

You may be the professional, but I still swear by Sellotape (or packaging tape) as you can sneak it out the office without anyone noticing!
