I found a bat I liked at the end of the season (2nd hand but unused), knocked it in and then played it in over the winter and slowly fell in love, she wasn't much of a looker but we were made to be together.
Comes the first few outdoor nets of the season everything was going well until I felt a small explosion at the end of my hands and looked in horror down to see this...
Rest in pieces fair prince! The exact same thing also happened last year, with a bat from the same manufacturer - albeit through a different supplier - fortunately being a CB forumer I have a brand new Salix as a backup plan, but it's horrible to have that happen once with a bat you really get on with, but twice in a row is maddenening! And with both having been purchased second hand I can't really expect the brand to take any responsability, so even though I don't think it's my fault I've no comeback.
Somebody please reassure me that such breakages are just freak results and the explofing splices aren't caused by anything I might be doing!
P.S I'll see If I can find a picture of last years which was even more spectacular.
