Recommendations for small men's/compact batting pads?
« on: May 06, 2014, 10:39:02 AM »

Since coming back to cricket, this is my fourth season back, I've used two different sets of batting pads. For my first few seasons I used a set of GM 808 batting pads which were a nice and quite compact. I then replaced these with a set of Slazenger ultimate batting pads that were reduced to about twenty quid at Sports Direct. Silly boy!

The pads fit 'ok', but due to my height [or lack of], I'm finding the pads too bulky. So I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations for batting pads in a small men's size, or any that are more compact? Are Indian men size worth considering?

I'm about 5'7.

Thanks

I have a couple of inches over you and I find youth pads from M&H quite a decent fit.

GM Youth is worth a shot.

B3 pads were a really good fit for me one net session who is 5'8/5'9.

I'm using blank bat pads this season and they're the best pads i've ever owned.

At 5' 7", I was having the same dilemma. I eventually plumped for a pair of Puma Platinum Elite 5000 in Youth size. Brilliant fit, lightweight, great protection, and they look classy. See my 'Retro or modern' post in this forum.
