So, my b3 butterfly arrived in the post.
I saw the forum price/offer, and decided I was interested, but as I know the b3 lot well, I contacted streaky to see if it was possible to have one made up but rather than the set profiles said in the thread dave set up, I wanted it made in my profile that I had designed for my match bat,
But I wanted it a few lb lighter to use while I am recovering from my ruptured spleen.
Streaky selected the cleft so the profile would make a lighter bat(there may have been tweaks to the profile judge yourself,
Bat took about 3 weeks to arrive, I'm not really playing, so was in no rush. Andy as kept upto date well on it progress.
Had a few issues trying to get decent pics of the new stickers to decide on that front, and on arrival one not keen on my choice, but a change of grip colour should sort that out,
The bat.
Smiley profile weighing 2.14. Created for mainly front foot play, low middle, very very slight concaved(most would say non)
On pressings with the bat, it's a tad more bottom heavy than expected, this may be due to the butterfly stains weight, but I believe a second grip will sort this out.
The sound with a ball is bizzarre, it does not sound like any bat I've heard before, yet, the ball and mallet doe come of the blade like any other b3 I have which I am mightily impressed with.
Need to knock it in and then get it in a net so shall update on that.
The butterfly stains are more prominent on the back, and the one on the front is high on the blade, and it has a decent grain count which I like, so overly not too ugly IMO,
Here it is next to my 3stripe match bat, match bat is 3.2
Overall I am highly impressed, another great bat from b3 to add to my collection.
