I just have two quick questions about scuff sheets.

    (1) Are they worth having, ie do the give good protection and not hamper the performance of the bat?

    (2) If I were to get one, is it a good idea to get a plain one[1] or a fibreglass one[2]?

Plain Sheet (eBay)

Fibreglass Sheet (eBay)

Any help would be most appreciated! :)

Note: I do already have protective tape to put on the edges also.

Plain scuff looks nicer and is easier to remove.
As for impacting performance you won't notice a difference.

Depends what plain ones you get, as some of them just crack up and peel, and leave tons of residue after removal. Scuff sheets are worth it, an extra couple of pounds to prolong the life of a piece of equipment that usually costs over £100 is worth it. You can get some good quality helicopter scuff sheet from some stores, which are probably my favourite kind. Will cost you a little more than the scuff sheet you have listed, but worth every penny. :)

Id go for the helicopter sheets. In my own experience id avoid a lot of the scuff sheets on ebay like the plague. If under £4 leave well alone.Ive had a few that were shocking.Speak to the forum sponsors/shops for one.Re the edge tape ive started putting it on under the scuff sheet. You don't get the manky residue on the edge of the tape and looks a lot neater.

These are my experiences clear scuff sheets are generally thicker and can have a slight effect on performance. Fibre sheets disintegrate faster. Clear sheets are easier to remove  than fibre.

Firstly, yes definitely get one.
Secondly, either is fine is a personal preference really, I prefer the fibre tec as i think it holds the bat together better if any cracking occurs however if the bat is a particular eye saw i use the inbuilt fibre edge style scuff sheet  which from the ones i have purchased are little thicker than a standard clear but do not change the performance from what I have seen>

Hope this helps mate

I use clear scuff sheet and fiberglass edge tape, and haven't had any issues so far.

I've always found Hammeredge to be superb.

Other posters are right - avoid cheap imitations and clear ones like the plague.
