Only 3 '0's in a row, Buzz??  I once went 0,0,0,0,1,2,1 before deciding to stop overthinking everything and just go with 'watch the ball, hit the ball'...I scored 46 in the next game.  it's amazing how much easier batting becomes when all you focus on is watching the ball as far onto the bat as possible.  For me, if I do this then I find that my shot selection happens naturally and I start scoring runs again.

are you worried about your place in the side?

I know a young opening bat that had a similar problem and after chatting to him I found out the reason he does not play a shot in anger as he was worried if he played a bad shot he would be dropped but after I spoke to his skipper he was told he would open no matter what and he opened up

try chatting to your skipper to see if he is happy with what you are doing if he is it will give you a confidence boost but if he isn't don't get down ask him what he wants from you then work on it in nets but bat in nets like you would in a game I see so many people slog in nets then try to play properly in a game and they struggle

with the spin thing if you don't have the power look for gaps and try using your feet as its a dying art from what I see as if people use feet they think they have to hit over the top or slog but when I face spin I tend to come down track 90% of the time but try to hit gaps rather than slog as you loose shape as you said

I am the skipper, and everyone else seems to be scoring runs.  However, I like to try and lead by example as much as possible, so can't really do that effectively if I'm setting a bad one...

maybe a change of place in the order might help as 1 good knock can change confidence in most players

but if team doing well and rest scoring I would not worry too much as your contributing as skipper to teams success

are you naturally a defensive player or an attacking and where do you bat in the order

Here is a little story that you may get confidence from: Last season in 2013-4 (my first for a few years), I batted at 8 the first match, and i got off the mark. Next over, this slower medium pacer comes on and bowls wide outside off, and I play and miss every ball in that over and he eventually bowls me. After that I learnt to leave the ball outside off and play proper defensive shots. Even though i didn't score many runs after that and I batted no higher than 10, I didn't get out the rest of the season and ended up with a batting average of 3! Even though I didn't score many runs, I still enjoyed the matches and nets while gaining confidence from little things that matter to me but no one else!

Naturally quite aggressive. Last season when I changed clubs and was made skipper, I seemed to get quite defensive, even though I had my best season in terms of league runs scored  and still scored at a reasonable rate.  Think I was looking more for singles rather than biffing everything to the boundary

I used to open up but I now come in at 4 as skipper as I find it gives my head a bit of a break, especially if we field first.  Was going to drop myself down to 5 last week, but thought I'd give myself another go on a road of a pitch.  This week I may drop down to 5 or 6.  Depends on the whether the team I have is the same as the one I picked last night!

being aggressive does not mean biffing as you found out I'm naturally aggressive but don't biff (that much)

try lower down and freeing your mind up and rather than thinking about singles or anything else just remember its about having fun so go out and enjoy yourself

I've totally re thinked my batting this year
After moving down sarf, I find the bowling lacks pace onto the bat,, due to the different soil structure, this was only really pointed out to me, by my son,, after he came up for a game and bowled on our wicket.

I've started moving down the wicket more to meet the ball,, I bat a good 7inch out of my crease now, and have also altered my guard slightly, to bat more on off stick

All slight changes, but which have improved my actual hitting of the ball and scoring

What I'm trying to get at,is,, if your struggling with an area of your batting,, work out what it is, and make changes
Maybe an aspect of your battings changed? This needs to be isolated and worked on
Try and turn it into a positive
