Changing the shape of the handle...
« on: May 23, 2014, 09:03:00 AM »

I have an MB LE with a very sharp spine which starts right from the splice. Oddly it's been carried into the handle about 1/4 way in. At first I found this quite interesting (almost an alternative to an oval handle) but after a couple of uses in nets just with throw downs I found I'm starting to get a bit of a cramp in my hand (wasn't expecting that) so it's unlikely I'd be able to use that for any duration in a match without the discomfort.

I like the bat otherwise so wondering if I can just unwrap the twine and file the handle round? Would I just rebind the twine using PVA?

Seems straight forward enough but thought I'd ask anyway. All thoughts welcome.

You can unbind the twine and rasp/ sand the handle into shape.

Have a look at my topic on double binding and the responses. Some pics how to tie off the bind and PVA the base.

Thanks- but couldn't find the post you're referring to. Would you post a link for me please?
