Ok, so I ordered these pads from Orange Sports Australia (they have an ebay store pretty much selling indian stuff for cheap prices). I cannot remember how long it took to get to me, but it was VERY FAST props to Orange Sports Australia.
Anyway on to the pads -
Quality/Finishing
The quality of these pads are top notch, aesthetically they are very appealing, I do love the look of the 'Tendulkar style pads'. The use of mesh and leather are used throughout the pad is very nice, and the stitching on the pads looks very durable it will last me a very long time.
Protection
What everyone cares about. the protection. It is a lot better than I expected, the foam on the front is that dense its hard to describe, I've done a mallet test and they are as good as any cane fronted pads. The knee and the top flap are all really well padded and can't feel a thing.
Negatives
- There isn't actually a knee locater, there is a change in material across where the knee is, but it doesn't actually help the knee stay in place, and I found them moving around my leg a fair bit in the nets.
- The straps are not padded, which is I think is a massive turn OFF. I hate getting pad rash during training.
- The top flap isn't the best moulded, easily fixable but just a warning it can be wide, and get in the way while running. (I have now fixed this problem, just a matter of wearing them in)
Overall they are a quality pad, the protection and finishing is 10/10, I am using them as my practise pads over the Aussie winter.
Pictures will follow as soon as I can be bothered
