SG MAXILITE
« on: May 29, 2014, 07:42:00 AM »

Bought these pads last month and they have to be the best protecting pads in the market...covers your legs perfectly and the padding inside is so massive that you actually dont feel anything.

They have given an option of optional padding, like if you are not comfortable with these massive padding you can remove them anytime...

A nice buy for 2500 inr(25 gbp)

Bought it and waiting for it to be delivered tomorrow, was pretty confused for choice between this & SS Millenium Pro, but the SS one was missing from the market so went for this one.

I haven't seen ss softs in market lately.
I think they are concentrating more on bats...

I think SS are missing from market due to new branding (in Asia) & 2014 designs, I saw SS Millenium pro 2014 which was a different shape than previous one, also SG Maxilite is similar to new UK TON Gladiator.

EDIT: I saw SS Millenium pro 2014 somewhere which had different inner padding/protection than previous one.

I own a set of these I originally wanted to get the SG Hilite pads as they offered a bit better protection for back of the leg. Since the retailer didn't have the Hilites for lefties in stock he sent me these as the Maxilites are ambi.

These along with Hilite are SG's top of the line pads and both are great bargain for the price.

Two complains I have with these pads are that they don't fit well to anyone 5"7' or below the top strap comes right behind the knee.

second is that they should have been moulded a bit as I find the top to be too wide and this may come back to me being a short man.

Regardless some of the best pads I have used in terms of protection and overall quality.

Yes moulding is an issue.....but whenever i buy a pair of new pads...i tie them tight just to give them some shape....
And strap is not an issue for me as i am 6 feet tall....

SG is the best manufacturer of pads in India, they are very light, durable and affordable.

bit of an old topic, but how are the pads doing. I have really gone off the traditional pads and want a moulded pair. Very happy with my Aero P1s but need something slightly smaller. Been considering Morrant but they are too expensive.

Maxilite seem a good alternative.

I've used these for the whole season this year, they offer very good protection and are very light. One complaint I have with these is that they're not moulded.

I have the SG hilite glove and they are superb and would also look into SG Hilite pads as they are just as light as these and offer a little better protection for the back of the leg due to the wings.
