SG TEST GLOVES
« on: May 29, 2014, 07:50:16 AM »

if ss/ ton is the best indian brand for bats...

SG has to be the best indian brand for the softs.

Bought sg test gloves and sg maxilite pads last month.

Both of them have spot on quality and styling

Reviewed the pads in the respective section.

Now the gloves are really nice...very comfortable and feel really soft.

Was using gray nicolls maverick f1 gloves before this...and they really better fit wise and quality wise.

Paid 1500 inr(15 gbp) for this pair.

SG have been overlooked when it comes to bats. I think they make some great bats at great prices too.

I have had the Ultralite or Maxilite gloves for a season and a half and they did really well. Can't beat the price.

Next time I visit India, I will be getting a Sunny Tony, not to do with shape or profile or anything, I just always wanted one since I saw a Ranji player with it when I was a little lad playing tennis ball cricket.

Himanshu, when did you buy these gloves as they seem to be of last year as this year, softs have some extra color schemes . for eg: maxilite pads have extra color in left just below the left knee roll. gloves too have TEST written in different style.

They are...undoubtedly...
But their distribution channels are not well managed...its very tough to find any retailers selling BAS stuff...i guess only 1-2 retailers sell their stuff in delhi...

I guess they are quite prominent in mumbai circle....

How are these compared to SS Gladiator gloves?

And I have to agree that BAS makes some darn good bats. They are as good or even better than SS.

Have to say, the SF softs I've tried on seem to offer good value for money, but only the stuff produced in the most recent couple of years.

They do make good bats, but it takes lot of time to open plus most of them have too much scooping

I got two full kits of SG gear when I went to India last year with work.
I settled on the Supalite softs. Very happy with the quality, but I felt they were under test protection level.

Price aside, best softs I'd used before I upgraded to a higher protection level and supporting a local Australian company.

I have SG test gloves myself. Can't beat them for the quality especially as it costed me only £12 but I think now they cost around £16. Going to India in Feb 2015 so hopefully will get some new stuff including a brand new bat  ;)
