I probably undersold the Icon a bit lol

It has a terrific pickup and my GM Icon+ feels like a feather compared to most bats in it's wait range. It has a fairly chunky toe on mine. Jason did a review a while back on it:-

As an opener I get lots of balls above my waist therefore all my bats have high middles because at 5ft 6 tall high middle bats are ideally suited especially with shots off the back foot problem is  i can,t resist hooking the quicks.

Great I will have a look at some of these and the possible offers made might also be interesting. Amplus shape looks nice, not too concaved, but the Tempo and Distinction seem overly so.

I have quite a few options with a higher middle. Happy to send some pictures tomorrow.

Please send me a pm to discuss,

Amplus is superb, can't go wrong and it's really good on the drives.

I have an amplus shape in stock. Fantastic bat. It has a very slight pressing crack on one edge. Hardly notice it and won't make any difference to the bats performance.

£170 if you are interested.

Thanks

Kieron

Having my first foray in to a high middle bat. I open and like to pull & hook, also our wicket has some bounce in it so looking forward to seeing how it plays. Anyone else using a high middle bat ?

Yep

Got myself an Amplus G1, 2lb 9.

Minimal concaving, big edges, sweet finishing, scrummy.

Love it. It really gives you value if you play on a 'proper' wicket and stand upright.

I've picked up a ricochet off a forum member, ill see how I get on with it and may splash out for next season. The Amplus looks a grouse bat .

Icon, I have one. Great pick up and shape on it and it has a high middle like you're asking for.

Icon looks grouse too, does it come with a round handle or only oval?

I can second or third the M&H Harlequin - beautiful high middle bat with a rounded face, minimal concaving, oval handle. I have a M&H Original High which is identical in the hands and goes well too, which was $120 cheaper. Excellent pickup and rebound.

I'll check them out. M&H seem to offer a larger range of high middle bats than any other maker, maybe with the exception of kookaburra.

Aldred has a few high middles bats, the h4l envy is worth a look too. I'm sure red ink could make you something to your specs.
