Pollard or not that's a monster bat, well worth the money I would say. Why should it be so difficult to source a Player's bat, not so difficult in my opinion. While buying a team bat few years back in Hyderabad, India we bought 2 bats from a guy who was in close circles (that's what he said) with IPL & Ranji players, 1 of the bats I bought was for a Hyderabad IPL team's player, a TON bat with Puma stickers lovely bat with really good finishing, another one was a PROTOS bat supposedly for VVS Laxman. Though I didn't like the VVS bat (not my type) but that was really a Very Very Special bat, light as a walking sticking felt like around 2.4/2.5 Lbs and pinged like a spring, few of my team mates who preferred a light weight bat for slogging hit humongous Sixes with it.

Thanks Vinay, this is great info provided by you. I was not sure whether it is POLLARD bat or not but it is amazing bat and after seeing your post and clarification i am now hundred percent sure that this is original POLLARD BAT. It is good to know that so many international players bats has passed through your hands, next time i will request you to arrange me any of these players bats. :)
Well done on your purchase and yes, the next time you would like a custom made Ton, please get in touch with us.

Its an excellent looking bat mujju, certainly big and a very good price.

As for names on the toe, before we started seeing them on the forum I had seen a bat from SS (Cover_drive's) with Virat on it and unfinished toe. Then I got a couple more from India shortly after IPL 2013 was over, these bats all had names on the toe and toe was rough/unfinished. These bats were made for players to use in the IPL, but once the tournament was over and surplus stock was acquired but some retailers and sold.

Since then I am assuming that SS have started making these bats more available for retailers and customers as there are a lot of them popping up now but regardless your's is a very good looking bat so it does not matter if it was meant for Pollard or if it is a copy of the shape he uses or if someone just wrote on it with a pen for the sake of selling it. As most brands know they make multilple bats for their players but players don't always pick up all the bats that are put aside for them...

Enjoy using it, how tall are you? since it is a longer bat I would really like to know how you feel using it, I am 6'3 and use SH bats simply because LB/LH bats seems to be feel like a toothpick for the weight I use...

Sorry but you're mistaken.

Whenever they make a bat for a particular player, they always write the name on the bottom and invariably its spelt incorrectly!! We have had numerous bats pass through our hands for the likes of Dhoni, Tendulkar, Pathan, Afridi, Rohit Sharma, Ganguly, Sehwag, Yuvraj and they always have the names on the bottom.

A recent example is shown below, which was supplied to R. Jadeja for the Champions Trophy that was held here last year and you'll see the name was written on the bottom, along with the customary spelling mistake ...

with due respect I was only going by the email I received from Jatin as I was curious to find out if they do write the names on the Toe or not. Now I am confused...

Asad Bhai With due respect, i know that you are expert of this field and really have good connections with all leading bat manufacturers and you are sourcing some pro bats like Misbah and many more international players, could you please do a favor and ask SS owner how can we identify whether a particular bat is a players bat or a normal bat so that we can use this info in buying any other pro bat in future.
This is exactly what i am trying to find out so it helps you me and everyone else. I will definitely check with him

Thanks Tushar ..i am six feet ,i personally like long blades with short handles ,they give me more balance and confidence in my stance ,i think you should give a try :0, i am not a bat expert (i may be totally wrong ) :0, but feel the long blades have a nice balance and pick up.. coming back to the bat ,i honestly think that i was really lucky to get a bat like this :) hope i made some sense

So, SS write names on the bottom of bats = pro bat. Fine.

Small time waster buys lower grade bats, sandpaper and magic marker. Doesn't even have to be literate to start ripping people off.

p.s. This is not casting aspersions on the Pollard, just a general observation.

If any time wasters can find me a 16 grain 45mm edge minimal concaved bat for a good price at 2.9 then write whatever you like on the toe, cash waiting.

Ask kippax, if all you care about are edges, dead weight and minimal concaving.

Bought planks before from so called hand picked retailers and also dogs off ebay, I now do the same as the retailer and buy purely on looks and hope it performs. Might have to look at Kippax, also would go for a stick from OnlineStockist, after something huge.
