Are there differences between pittard palms across brands ? If so what are the differences and which brand would forum members suggest ?

Pittards is the brand mate! if it says Pittards, it should all be the same!

Ahhhhh ok Thanks NickAuger, I just for example see Cougar Pittard Palms or just Standard Pittard listed with nothing infront so wasn't sure on differences.

Pittards is the brand. The types are the cuts/treatments applied to the leather. Cougar is the standard leather with the WR100x treatment. A few brands use Armortan with the digital pattern.

Most brands though these days just use the standard Cougar leather.

I got some H4L NV pittard gloves recently... beautifully soft, greyish in colour so looking forward to playing in them at the weekend.. feel great on their grips too.

Had Bellingham and Smith LE pittards too which were also great quality.. hardened a little over time and use...

Pittards I believe give better grip with the pattern especially over soft, smooth leathers so would recommend them and as the previous forum member said they are always labelled 'pittard'.

Thanks for the info Tom & PragueTaz, That's what I was confused about the leather cuts and treatments as you described much easier to ask here than research trawling through the net,
I'll take a look at the H4L ones too any other suggestions on brands etc would be much appreciated also from both mainstream brands to forum brands etc

To be fair, all leather palms harden over time thanks to sweating, but most of us on here don't keep gloves long enough to find this out.

check out 'blank bat' pittards too... there may still be some limited edition ones available...

other highly recommended but expensive options include:

H4L nv pittards are 50 gbp posted from vitas sports... cheapest deal by far for top quality...

I find the grey diamond pattern Pittards don't harden up at all. I have a pair of gloves with this and it's still as soft as new after using them for 1.5 seasons. They tend to be thinner, which doesn't affect durability but just feels thinner when gripping.

The white Pittards with the small holes do tend to still harden up. They feel a little thicker in the hand as well.

That's my issue currently I'm going through gloves quite quickly as I've just got used to the same glove and kept reordering them but thought it's time to make a change, I'll be sure to look at blank bats & H4L, I like the Newbery style very minimalist, I'd seen black Pittard palms somewhere anybody used those ?

I've had various gloves with pittard palms and they all seem to have the same amount of grip and feel. A pair of duck and runs I had did dry out very quickly however which was annoying as they were previously very comfortable.

I got the SS Millenium Pro Pittards and they are really good too.
