Kashmir, who cares?
« on: July 07, 2014, 09:08:41 PM »

Kashmir or not a bargain is a bargain, and I think I may have got one here (feel free to disagree with me).

For £10 posted, a new grip, half an hour sanding (and the sandpaper obviously) and a couple of coats of oil I now have a perfectly serviceable wet weather bat. And did I mention it's a purist??  :D

Arrived like this (some of the binding was missing so I added some Zinc Oxide tape to prevent it unravelling any further)

And now looks like this (I've glued the crack but not got a pic)

It is possible to find a Kashmir bat that plays has well and sometimes better than English  willow depending on the drying pressing and skill of the bat maker etc.

Now you have a wet weather bat you better move on one of your existing GM's to me!

You certainly love a GM bargain that's for sure!

Scuff sheet added and varnished the toe, will get some comparison shots to my other purist later
