Gutless may be the wrong term, precious, soft, sook, are all words that may better suit.

If it's a league game, then you report the cheating. If it's not a league game and they are very much cheating then simply do not play them again and ensure that their fixtures secretary knows the full reason why!
And I agree with most on here. If he is there as a player then he cannot be expected to get involved in any issues!

 I'm sure the three of us who are/have been forces aren't 'sooks' or soft. Again, not sure how not wanting to waste time playi cheats make you suddenly 'soft'. Is amateur cricket that serious?? Really? We are all crap, if we were any good we'd play for a full county side. Not the u17's or 2!nds.. Full contracts. Until then, it's meaningless,

We did want to report it but tbh there is no point, as we all know there is nothing they can or will do.
