Blackwidow LE
« on: July 24, 2014, 08:50:25 PM »

I've been offered this bat for (with the conversation rate) around 200 pounds, from the man who started D&P cricket. Now I'm wondering if it's worth it. Nice bit of heart wood down the outside edge. But a few blemishes. Obviously without being able to test it (I live on the opposite end of the country) I'm hoping to gather your accumulated knowledge to decide if it is, by the photos worth the price.

PS. First time uploading pics. I'll get better I promise haha.

Never seen a rubbish D&P and the price is not bad at all for an LE especially after seeing some of the bats being sold for £40  more ;) get some better photos up so we can have a better look. :)

Just to add. Its an inch longer blade, copy of Herschelle Gibbs profile, comes in at a weight of 2.75. These are the photos I got pre-stickers.

There is no way that is an LE or even grade 1. If I were you I would say thanks but NO thanks. Talk to the forum sponsors they will sort you out with a much much better bat for less money.

Or if you want a bat that will pop onto ebay.co.uk and pick up a ca8000, 10000 or 12000...im chuffed to bits with my two ca bats..

Don't waste your money on the black widow.

Doesn't look like "le" type willow. Any chance of a decent side profile shot?

Honestly, that bat had better go like a whore with a firework up her ass as on looks alone or isn't worth £200 unless you paid for Julian millichamp's time.

Agree with previous comments, def. not LE.  Should be around 150

Visually it's a poo-stick, and as you won't be able to tap it up, you won't know how it goes.

Avoid it - plenty better to be had on here.

I've seen some MSR bats that look far better than that for £40

With a certain sticker on it £200 would be a bargain according to this place.

Very much depends on the stickers....

I've never used a D&P so I wouldn't pay £200 for it.

With someone's sticker that I know produces great bats, then maybe I would...

I think that's really the issue. I've had a bat with Willow like that that has different stickers on it, but I didn't pay 200 quid for it. I think the blemish on the front is the disappointing thing, but in all fairness, it's probably just about Grade 2 willow based on the Wright's grading standard.

I'd be ashamed to sell that as an LE grade - embarrassing for D&P

Grade 3 at best for me, blemish on the edge, the line next to the heartwood, the state of the back of it... We've all seen better Aldreds at Butterfly grade than this.

I think whoever is trying to sell it is talking bull about having anything to do with d&p.
