GM Mogul
« on: August 03, 2014, 10:28:41 AM »

Here is the Mogul. One of the best pickups on any bat that I have owned. Very well balanced. As for ping well I don't know how to judge GM bats as they are pressed to within an inch of there lives. It's good but not great at the moment but when/or if it opens up a bit more I hope it gets better. Love the the shape pick up balance but wish I could get one with the performance of a H4L.

Like the colour scheme! Is it one of those Sports Direct exclusives?

No it's exclusive to Australia only.

Sometimes I wish I lived there! Kookaburra Gear this year for Aus was so much nicer!

I've only had one net session but I'll keep on persisting. Great pickup. If you can afford it go for a LE.

My captain from last summer has picked up the LE already this summer. 2'8 and picks up well. I prefer the super light pick up so it's not 100% right for me.
He got me to use it in a net session over the weekend to try and help with the opening up. I middled a couple and absolutely smoked them. I'm not a big hitter at all, but these couple rocketed off.

Wish I had bought 1 LE instead of a 2 lower grades.

The thing that annoys me with Australian stockists of GM that go the very high and the very low (Grade 1 and Grade 3 but nothing in the middle).

I know its difficult with GM and their different faces, but it makes things difficult for the mid grade player. If my calculations are right, you could have 60 GM bats in stock and not have one the same - 3 faces, 5 types of timber (Players Edition, Players, G1, G2, G3) and 4 models (Icon, Six6, Mogal and Maestro) , 3x5 is 15. 15x4 is 60. This is even before you start to look at weights as well.

I guess they needed to decide to cull out somewhere and they just decided that Grade 2 willow was it.

My understanding is that the mid range has been split between meulemans and gccc. For example the mogul 909 is only sold at gccc

not all the bats have multiple face shapes - only the Icon comes in F2, F4.5 and F7. Most of the others only come with one face shape.
That said your point is valid about the stock requirements to do the range justice.
