should I replace my grill
« on: August 11, 2014, 05:03:38 PM »

hi,

as you can see this is my grill attached to my helmet below

do you think i should get a new grill????

i was also actually considering a new helmet as im (hopefully) going to uni this September and plan on playing some uni cricket as well, the helmet i have currently my brother purchased on this forum for my birthday so i actually don't know the condition of the helmet, i have also taken a couple of knocks on the helmet when batting against spin and top edging it into my helmet.....

thanks

jack

Part of the weld on the grille has failed.

I can see it now you've pointed it out, I think...
Maybe I need new glasses!

And if that's the case I'd say you probably do need a new one mate.
(Or you could have a go welding it yourself!)

Definitely, seeing that's the top bar that has to hold to prevent a ball making its way through to your face.

Definitely buy a new one. Dental bills are a hell of a lot more than a new grille...

Def. time for you to get a new helmet, not worth the risk...

Mate, having dislocated my knee a few weeks ago, which has put me out from playing for the rest of this Aussie season and possibly half of next season, i'd go for the option that prevents the injury. It hurts far more missing playing.
