Playing in wet weather with no scuff sheet
« on: August 14, 2014, 09:04:17 AM »

I have an important match this weekend. But the weather forecast is really bad.  I have a wet weather unloved bat, but for this match I want to use my best bat. This bat has only edges covered.

Any comments on risks...?

If the forecast is correct you won't have to worry lol

Use the wet weather bat if it's soaking, no point ruining a decent bat for one game.

You will be fine. If it is soaking that bad then there will no play anyway. Keep a tea towel in your pocket and keep wiping it every time you are non strikers.

Which ever bat you decide to use ensure you have a toe guard as the toe is vunerable to wet and damp weather.

Simply add a clear anti scuff mate then no worries they certainly help prolong the life of a bat in my view.
