sf's have better protection (in my view)

similar thinness.

sf's can be more customised.

remfry have fixed attachment points, the sf have Velcro everywhere.

personally went for the sf's have had them for 2 years and love them

Dave (above) has both and loves the remfry ones.

Joe Root and half the indian and Sri Lankan teams use sf.

most Aussie players like remfry.

both are very expensive for a Thighpad!!

the bas ones are a great cheaper alternative

Have to admit, wish I stuck with my remfrys now!

What's the issue with the stretton's mate

I just like my remfry and feel there comfy and fit like a glove

In 5 years I hVe not felt a thing and I guess I do face bowling up to 80 odd mph at times.

Been struck at 91 on the machine felt nothing.

Just don't seem to get on with them, can't get the fit snug no matter how hard I try and by next week have gone too tight again, also move about too much when I bat,  always lose my inner thigh pad.

What I'd be tempted to do is to get Strettons made up in the same shape as the P2s I have and use the p2 material outers to hold them.

are the Remfry's much thicker than the SF?

Also, if both are "custom made", how come the Remfrys offer a more snug fit?

Having both, using both I would suggest Stretton Fox because;

- Stretton Fox are more malleable.
- Stretton Fox cover more region.
- Stretton Fox have better ventilation and sweat absorption.
- Stretton Fox have better shapes.
- Stretton Fox are more protective.
- Stretton Fox have better strap and 'wrap.'

Here is a short, comparison video which I made sometime ago;

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oli3zCd27js

Last but not least, Stretton Fox customer service is truly exceptional. The best I have ever experienced and George Fox (Founder) is terrific gentlemen and his vast experience makes him extremely skillful.

Hope this helps.

Having both, using both I would suggest Stretton Fox because;

- Stretton Fox are more malleable.SORRY BUT ONE STAYS THE SAME SHAPE AND IT IS A CORRECT SHAPE.
- Stretton Fox cover more region.YOU ORDER THE WHAT YOU WANT SO THAT IS NOT QUITE CORRECT
- Stretton Fox have better ventilation and sweat absorption. AGREE
- Stretton Fox have better shapes.NOT IN MY CASE OR MANY OTHERS WHO USE THEM MINE ARE MOLDED TO MY LEGS WITHOUT GAP SAME CANNOT BE SAID ABOUT SF AND THEY NEVER FEEL THE SAME
- Stretton Fox are more protective.WHAT WITH A MALLET NOT WITH ACTUAL BALLS I HAVE EXTENSIVELY TESTED BOTH IN GAME AND PRACTICE SITUATION THERE NO DIFFERENCE.GAMES BEEN HIT ABOVE 80 AND PRACTICE ABOVE 90
- Stretton Fox have better strap and 'wrap.'FIXED POINTS WILL ALWAYS GIVE A BETTER STRAP WRAP IT WHAT PEOPLE ARE FINDING

Sorry Uzair i guess we come from different cricketing spectrum's and i found the Stretton with there malleable never feel the same from one game to another plus the inner thigh never stays still where the Snug fit Remfry from ball one may not be that malleable but the leave no gap and are consistence.

A better way would be a actual mold form put on your leg and hard form around but nobody has come up with this yet... :D

Same happens with me.

I've always been a kookaburra batting shorts man but decided this season to see what the fuss was all about with Strettons.

Bought my off Dave but all season I haven't felt comfortable wearing them once. Have given up on the inner thigh pad no matter what strapping I used. Now just use the outer with 3 straps but seem to still move it every other ball when batting.

Think I will be trying another option for next season, b3's are an option or maybe something else with fixed points.

not sure I agree with all your points Dave.

largely your issues sound like user error rather than a product failure!

certainly the straps work great for me and they have molded well to my legs.

the ball vs mallet comments made me laugh.

I had trouble with inner thigh on sf but got another big waist strap like on outer thigh from sf and sorted it as the inner is strapped as it's own pad not attached to outer and happy now

That's what I've done and it's now fixed. Certainly far better than the others I've tried (not tried Remfry's and probably won't)

Never said product failure mate I'm not against Strettons far from it both great product leaders of there field no doubt but is one more protective than the other not really they do the same thing.

Would i buy either again no and i feel no difference in protection at all i have never felt a ball through them with either Pad on. Slight worry is the sound of remfry can sound a tad more wooden.

Best comment on this thread is the Bas ones they do a very good job and the 3 strap Bas one is as good as any so is the GN and KOOK top end too for there price bracket.

I see you say most Australians use remfry in truth MOST PRO''S over the world do but George has brought the UK in line with top quality body protection and in time will catch up for sure.

But i still feel there room for a ultimate injector mold thigh pad which would be fit to your leg but would it be cost effective I'm not sure.
