My new Affinity Custom
« on: August 29, 2014, 07:59:33 PM »

Thought I'd share some pics of my new Affinity bat. Having noticed a fb post from Marcus saying he had a cleft remaining from the three he'd picked out to make bats for the MCC v RoW, I thought id go for it. Sent a message and Marcus being Marcus rang me the next morning for a lengthy chat about all things cricket. I'd already bought a Spectre from him and he knew I had a Toro from Paul @ IJC so he suggested something meaty with a slightly higher middle. I agreed and he got to work. Due to a busy schedule there was a bit of a delay in getting it but it is certainly worth the wait. It barely fits in the neoprene bat skin! Specs are SH 3'0 in weight with 9 grains, max edge 43mm max spine 65mm, edge and spine at the bottom of the front sticker are 33mm & 55mm. Spine at the handle is 39mm, the handle is basically rectangular which feels really good in the hands. The pick up is good for the weight & I had a choice of livery so opted for the Ayrtek to match my affinity elite softs. Response off mallet and ball are phenomenal. When it arrived I literally couldn't put it down, big thanks to Affinity!!

Was in two minds whether to go with the Phantom stickers and it had already been put on. I like it though, it's not what you'd expect. We'll have to sort a forum net out for us lads in the North, you can have a go. I think you'd like it!!
