Dear All,

This is my first post in this forum. Is really is a stand out forum when I compare it with other available on internet.

I have a new bat which I knocked for almost 5 -6 hours with a hammer over a period of three weeks, today I used it for the first time in the net sessions with an old ball. Unfortunately, after some time I observed a dent and a crack at the bottom left right corner of the bat.
I want some opinions on how I can repair this bat myself.
Please help me to upload the pictures, I am not able to upload them.

after you get pics up it will become clearer what needs doing.  from what you say its probably only small so would require a bit of pva glue, a little sanding and some fibre tape.  if its a big crack youll need a vice too, or a pro batmaker may need to be called into action.

well it's not the end of the world - very often a good bat will crack and this is the weakest area of the bat- my advice, keep playing with it and if it gets worse send it back to newbery - they have very good repair servies.

It does sound like a crack that shouldnt really effect the bat - apart from sanding it out there isnt a lot you can do untill it gets worse....probably best to whack a bit of tape around the area and keep it going.

you will have to upload them to a site like photobucket.com where you have to copy and paste the 'image code' into a post here....

If you upload them to photobucket, then copy the Direct Link code, press the insert image button and paste the code between the two [img] tags. Hope this helps.

There is no need to glue that crack - it wouldnt do anything, plus it isnt big enough to glue. My bat which i got off Talisman did exactly the same - i just taped it up and got on with things and it was a flyer all season.
Yes - it doesnt look pretty and it's annoying when a new bat cracks but it is always better for a bat to crack than not at all.

Is there any particular tape which I  should use ? Right now it has the hammer edge facing on it.

just leave it as it is, its fine with the hammer edge on.  knock that area in a bit more if you want though, can only help.
