Repairable or not
« on: September 03, 2014, 01:37:11 PM »

Afternoon chaps,

I was netting last night and my bat made a dodgy sound as i dug a yorker out, and looked down and had got a nice crack and was wondering was it repairable or not?
If not, suppose ill just have to buy a new one ;)

Personally I would say that looks very repairable.

Very simple repair, you shouldn't even notice it when it's finished.

Keep it as clean as you can for whoever fixes it.

Sime mate, lots of wood glue and clamp it or use brown packaging tape , sand down and apply scuff sheet and toe guard.

If your a bit handy with wood and tools add a dowl in there as well, if you want to send to me and cover return postage I'll d it for free.

It looks fixable, but buy a new bat just in case.

That should be quite easy to repair if you want to have a go yourself and dont want to drill and dowel remove toe guard pour undiluted PVA glue into the crack and clamp tightly ( put rubber or similar between clamp and bat to prevent marks from clamp ) leave for 24 hours  remove excess dry glue and bind tightly with fibreglass tape.

No worries Chris, I've got a couple of bats in at the moment, will get some proper branding and advertising done when my season has finished.

This is the only advice you need to read.

Definitely repairable.
Julian Millichamp has a good video on his Screaming Cat YouTube channel about bat maintenance and repair.
From the pics, the cracks haven't gone through from front to back so should be all good.
