Catching any balls that go past the batsmen tends to be a good start
In all seriousness I would say for faster bowlers stand a bit further back and just try to get anything behind the ball. Also remember to have a helmet available in case you want to stand up to the stumps or just want a bit more protection!

Just the same as batting. Watch the ball all the way and follow the bounce of the ball, i.e. rise with it. When standing up always expect the ball to come to you every single time and stay very relaxed. This has always helped me as early in in my keeping days I found myself expecting the batsman to hit it and then realising it had beaten the bat or gone through him for byes. At the end of the day though just enjoy it and be prepared to wear a few on the finger ends!

Stay further back than you think! It is better it bounces on the way through to you than fluff it for four!
ohh and wear gloves!

Stay low as long as possible, watch the ball into the gloves and stop things first, catch them 2nd as you're only a part time keeper.

Agreed 100% with above. Stop first, catch second. Enjoy it, and don't do too well or you'll be stuck behind the sticks next year!
