Light 2 strap pads
« on: September 14, 2014, 07:50:00 AM »

Apologies if it is a duplicate topic. Any suggestions on two strap pads. Anyone found them comfier than three strap ones.

Have to be light I.e. around 500g per pad or less.

Recommendations welcome.

The Blank Bats ones were superbly light and well made, well worth a try.

However if your lower legs are magnificently well-muscled like mine, you may find this style a little tight.

If you can get hold of the GM RSB Original pads I recently sold on here to a forum member, they are incredibly light and offer outstanding levels of protection

I did look in to them while I like the look they were a bit out of budget and GM have a tendency to be stiff but thanks for reminding I will see if I can get a used bargain.

I'm not sure on the actual weight specifics of these, but I owned a pair for a while and found them stupidly light.. too light in fact for me! That and how you can't exactly wear them a little bit low on the foot were the deal breakers for me. For some strange reason I think I prefer a bit of weight on the legs whilst batting, maybe feel a bit more protected? If you're after a light pad though with good protection I'd go for these IMO. Using the bowling machine on 75+ and was protected adequately.

I'm pretty new to this forum and I occasionally come across posts stating that one member has sold second hand gear to another... is there a second hand trading section on the forum?

Yes. It's a restricted area which is available after valuable contributions to the forum after you reach a certain amount of posts I believe! It used to be open to all but it's to make sure people do not use it as an alternative to ebay minus selling fees etc. Keep posting the 'valuable contributions' to the forum and one day you'll eventually find it pops up on the threads.
