Anyone tried these before? Very cheap. Not sure how much they would weigh but would be interested in knowing. They dont look like they offer much protection but should be okay for us park cricket blokes  :D

I find that a lot of the lighter pads tend to look very silly. For that reason I think Puma pads are a good compromise. They are light-ish from around 650-800 grams depending on the model you go for. Calibre's are their 2 strap version.

Another decent 2 strap is the SS Millenium Ton pads. They weight about 660 grams but I personally didn't go for them as they felt very wide/bulky. I think VKS also do a lightweight pad in their own brand but I found someone on here who bought them and posted pics and I found aesthetically they looked cheap.

If you're looking for 500 grams I'd say you'll probably be buying pads that make you look silly when you go out to bat. Better off wearing another 100 grams and wearing some nice pads :)

I got a pair of morrants which are really light, I would like the fit a bit more snug like Aero but they seem a good compromise.

Just the other day I ordered both the morrant international ultralite and the plain super ultralite pads - sent them both back within 24hrs! The internationals were very strange, with a fluffy texture on the front which was not dissimilar to felt..personally I found that too odd for £95 (and incredibly impractical) but they were very comfy and light.. The Super ultralite ones, on the other hand, were simply not comfortable and were pretty poorly finished in my opinion.

The internationals weighed almost exactly 500g each, and the super ultralites were about 720g each, for reference.

Interesting.

My Morrants weigh 536 grams each on post Office scale.

My Aero P1s (Size small) are lighter than that.

Aero P1 is a much better product. Morrants feel very awkward and rigid to me. Regarding looks, nobody says anything about my P1s.

Agree P1 is much better, I have a pair in large, would one in small but they are not available any where. If you are getting rid of yours, let me know.

Cannot believe noone said anything about them to you though, I have always been greeted with interesting phrases when walking out to bat in my P1s.

^ once or twice a season some one asks about the pads out of curiosity. No goofy remarks.

There are not available anywhere simply because (next to) no-one buys them. If you want a pair i am happy to order them in. :)

That is becuase they look different and people fear being ridiculed. I don't give two hoots about what people think. :)

They are so easy to run with and move down the pitch...I find it shocking that more people are not using them.

Players want the best, if these were the best they would be used, they are light but not very functional.

Personal preference is another thing.

I do believe they are very functional.

I find a lot easier to run in my P1 even thought they are larger than any other pair I have used.

What's the sizing on aero p1  or p2 pads? I am 5' 6" and am looking for some light and compact pads.

I am same height as you and I use size Small P1 right-hand pads.

Small P2s would be lighter and more compact!  ;)
