Knocking in factory prepared bats!

I hear so many different things these days about knocking in new bats I have. People say knock them in for hours. Others say have a few nets with them. I know when you buy one they are prepared differently, but what should I really do when I get a new one?

Oil it twice, knock in edges, toe, face. 1-2 hours. Net it, if it has deep seam marks knock it in more.

I prefer knocking the bats atleast 4-5 hours and a few nets before using in the matches. It makes the bat much better and gives me peace of mind.

If you knocked  in your bat up to 6 hours it could help prolong  it's lifespan also a good indicator are ball seam marks or mallet marks on the blade if there are  any further knocking in is required.

That makes perfect sense. I have several bats. A fearnley i have was a gun from the word go but another one i bought off our overseas this year which was straight from a factory was pretty average and had made some marks on the face obviously indicating that it needs a bit of a knocking in.
