I had a reflex and an insignia and from memory the insignia toe wasn't that thin was it? I suppose I just pick up any bat and as long as it feels right in my hands I just walk out with it and don't really look at the shape

This does bring back some wonderful memories. I used to absolutely love this shape as a youth.

The dip towards the toe is a bit more pronounced than I remember the insignia to be but I guess this shape has some modern touches added to the original.

Almost in between a reflex and an insignia?

My reflex had a really thin toe, must have only been 20-25mm! Can remember the vibrations hitting one off the toe!

I actually think I enjoyed the pub afterwards more than the show! Couldn't believe who was there: Alastair Cook, Matthew Hoggard, Stuart Broad, Jimmy Anderson and Ainsley Harriott...

I have an old Insignia here. I think there are some pics on here of it somewhere. Great bats and shape.

Top end football boots now retail at £240, so £180 for a cricket shoe seems logical when the batsmen / fielder could be on his feet all day.

You could have a pair of spiked up a pair of Asics Gel Kayano 20s (arguably the best running shoe on the market) for the same price, which is much harder on the knees and ankles. Asics have made a serious statement here - though I do think they are using their position as market leader.

...Or just buy a pair of Advance 4 or 5s for half the price?

Hoggard works there. All he did was eat when at the gear test - was world class at that too.

I would also argue the rest aren't working hard enough...

i was in the m&h shop today talking to Rob i think. he was saying how the ck22 has been by far their best seller this season. i had also heard they were changing their styling but didnt seen any evidence of it.

i did see what an oversize cleft is like compared to a normal cleft. the ck22 was twice the size and 4 oz lighter just ridiculous

Seems an odd statement when this time last year they were saying it would be very limited edition and only available in small quantities, it's also very expensive! Unless the rest of the range bombed of course, I believe they lost some retail accounts this year, probably due to price hikes, maybe combined with the loss of an excellent sales rep to Spartan.

Did you see a cleft or a part made?
