I think is becoming more the case these days.
As a club we are going through a period where lots of players have left us 4/5 years ago and we got relegated 3 years ago. Once the players had left we were left with a side that was far to young to compete at the top level in our county. The same lads stuck together and with getting old, stronger and more experienced we have got back to the prem but are a pretty average side within the league now.
We don't really want to have to pay loads of players to bring them over to us instead of them moving to the big clubs that always do well close by. You have to think...what can you offer them that they wont necessarily get at the other clubs. You have to look at players that you think are of a good quality at the same standard that might not be in favour at their clubs, but they can go one better at yours, for example open up the batting or bowling. Or at least get more of an opportunity for you.
