Your favourite bat profile of the 2014 season
« on: September 27, 2014, 07:45:16 AM »

Morning all,

With the season just a memory for most of us, what would be your favourite bat profile of the 2014 season?

Does not have to be one you own, but reason why you think it is the best is required.

For me, it would be the B3 1271 profile. Just feels powerful, with having an element of the bats I grew up using about them. Like a comfortable pair of slippers!

DW1 for me from B3 - as soon as I saw the profile I knew I couldn't resist getting one

There is definitely no bias considering Dave had a hand in the design - something he is really proud of

DW2.

A cross over designed by me enginneered by Smokey and made by Gavin Corns..

It has the 1271 as a templete and moulded slightly different to allow for a lighter weight in a heavier density.

I have not picked it up yet...

Personal favourite was the Purist F2, so rather sad to see it dropped for the 2015 range.

I have two, my B3 Bragg, and the SS full profile I have.

Chads laver is also worth a mention!

In terms of sales the Six6 was a favourite  :D, but in terms of profile I liked the Purist.

Although this turned out to be my favourite bat of the 2014 season,

No mate it's a custom shaped SLX that Andrew made me knowing I do to like concaving that much.

The bat I got on best with was a Six6 so I'll probably say that.

Shape wise I liked the Purist F2 I was stupid enough to sell. Also liked my hammer Fyrre (also sold) as it was a big silly hunk of tree!

I haven't got a chance to use either of my SSs yet but they've both got a big edge and high spine which makes them look huge! Wouldn't appeal to the anti-concave society though!

Is it me or could a six year old design the six6? Ie. Big edge no spine. From an innovation point of view it is hardly ground breaking. I'm sure its a good bat but doesn't do much for me either in profile or pickup, having picked a few up.

This thread is further evidence of duck bill toes being all the rage, but I have never used such a bat.  Anyone have any issues with strength/durability/performance down near the toe?
