Hey Fatty BOOM BOOM!
« on: September 30, 2014, 07:36:18 AM »

Not been on here for a fair while!

After my dad sadly passing away 3 weeks ago from heart failure it has given me a kick up the bum to try and shift some weight!

Me, Ryan and a few team mates are doing fitness training once a week as well to help with this!

Didn't wanna post all this sh*t to facebook so im going to be logging it all here.

Just for a bit of moral support :)

Started on Sunday dieting and will be doing as much exercise as i can!

My weight on Sunday evening was 24 stone 2lbs!  :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

see how it goes :)

I'm sure I speak for everyone on here in wishing you our condolences at the loss of your father.

Good luck with the weight loss and have a look at the recent off season fitness topic, which has a fair bit on diet as well as fitness training to give you a kick start. Keep us up to date at your progress, and remember chocolate is bad!

at the moment just got this myfitnesspal thing at the moment on my phone. so just gonna be calorie counting... plus the mrs is on slimming world so tbh will probs just eat what ever she eats.

thinking about going joggy a few days a week but did this other year and my knee was giving me issues(probs gonna be when am so heavy)

so iv'e ordered an exercise bike so planning just to do like 20-30mins on a bike every evening see how it goes.

its all new to me really cos ive never given a (No Swearing Please) about my weight before.

I would suggest getting some kind of gym membership. Its not just CV you can do. Weights help tone and build muscle, which in turn helps to increase your metabolism and burn more calories.

Sorry about your dad.

I used myfitnesspal to lose a couple of stone last year and my wife is using it now. Really makes you think about the food you eat and works.

I did quite a lot of walking too, easier than running and even if it's just having a walk round town in your lunch break it all helps. I also used to cheat a bit by buying boiled sweets to eat at nights so instead of a big bag of crisps or something I'd have a few of those, still not very healthy but far less calories and made me feel like I was still having something to eat.

Good luck.

got no chance of getting to a gym mate have far to much on with pretty much running two jobs and other stuff.
i do walk the dog pretty much everyday so i do do little bits.

yes on the building muscle stuff. we was doing alot of core stuff on sunday when we was in the field.

but am sure sit ups etc press ups etc all help. anyway will see how i get on.

doing something is better than doing nothing.

yesterday when i was hungry was just eating a few apples seemed to do the job :)

Carrot sticks is a good substitute for snacks - they are crunchy and not as dull as some other stuff!!!

I also have myprotien instant oats - it is basically oat flour - whack it in a milkshake for a low GI snack. It keeps you full but is not as sugary as most other snacks!

The reality is that you will lose more weight by organising your diet properly than by any amount of exercise (regardless of what the government or anyone else tells you). The exercise should help to improve the way you burn the energy you put into your body, but without a properly managed diet, you won't lose weight.

To do this, the best bet is to stick to eating a maximum number of calories per day (usually for male weight loss something between 1600 and 2000 is recommended), and try and do it in protein (makes you feel full longer), fats and low GI carbs (Oats, Brown Rice, Sweet Potato). If you "eat clean" i.e. cut out processed foods, you'll be surprised at how much food you get to eat and how little hunger you find you have.

Unfortunately people tend to focus on exercise first, where diet is really the most important.

Tim is pretty much spot on, sporting your diet plays a far bigger part in weight loss than exercise, obviously that helps too, but if you're only going to address one make it what you eat.
