replacement lekka
« on: October 07, 2014, 02:27:00 AM »

Hi all,

It has been well documented of my Lekka Sig breaking and myself burning and cutting it up.

So without further delay

Here is my replacement

9 straight grains,
2lb 8 oz
picks up like a dream
quite a bit of concaving but has a long, wide middle
39mm edges

Are we looking at the same bat?

Poor sticker application, straight grains?, toe guard looks disgracefully applied, even tape around grip is shabby. It may end up being a good bat but it's certainly not well finished or presented, looks very backyard.

they are pretty straight grains,
the stickers are fine except for the tail end of the back sticker as it is a very high spine it struggles to stick,
Toe guard is a toe guard, i havent bought a bat based on how neat a toe guard is

Tape is fine as i have put a second grip on and yet to un tape and re tape

i really want to know how the stickers look poorly applied as there are no bubbles and are straight, only issue is the tail on the spine

Not a big fan of lekka stickers.

The bat itself looks good and I bet it would look great with a different set of stickers.

Personally don't mind this. Depending on how much it cost!

You've admitted yourself one of them doesn't stick probably due to the spine. Plenty of companies out there make high spine bats and don't have this issue

I don't mind the bat, but the stickers confuse me. So many of them like hmx, xtratek, envy, xtrax, don't even know what they mean and what they are there for.

it is due to the scalloping and shape of stickers, if i wanted to make it sit flush i could put a cut in the sticker ans make it stick, this is what Kookaburra have done on models with  a substantial amount of concaving to the main kookabura on the back.

I don't mind the bat, but the stickers confuse me. So many of them like hmx, xtratek, envy, xtrax, don't even know what they mean and what they are there for.

They are a bit all over the place yes but from what i have gathered from speaking with Lekka

HMX- bat model
ENVY- Bat profile
Xtratek-scuff sheet name
Xtrax- grip

hope that answers the questions

Shouldn't lekka want to make it sit flush? It's not the customers responsibility to sort that out is it? Surely you can't disagree with that, sales rep or no sales rep that's a bit rubbish isn't it

It looks a decent stick mate. Most are being too emotional here with their feedback. I can guarantee you will get a different view if it was a different brand.

SS have had same problem with their stickers due to concaving.

Do you mind sharing the price.
