Visit to Chase Cricket
« on: October 14, 2014, 10:27:21 PM »

I got an invitation from Dan Swaine (Chase Cricket Bat maker and Owner) to visit him. Dan is a very good friend of mine and I know him for the last 10 years. It has been few years since i have visited his workshop. I spent yesterday afternoon at Chase workshop and had good discussion with Dan. I couldn't believe How much improvement has been made to the workshop  since I last visited him. After having few cups of tea and catching up with all the gossips, It was time to have a look at the workshop. I took some photos, selected some clefts for my Chase bats to be made.... . It was good to see that all Chase bats are made under one roof, from pressing to finish. He had good selection of clefts available and while i was there I saw bats were being made for different shops who stock Chase bats. My favourite bat shape was FLC and Volante.  I was also shown huge bat called SOMO which can be made on order in specified weight. Overall I was really impressed with the machinery Dan has and also the quality of willow. You will soon see Chase bats in our shop from the clefts i selected. My sincere thanks to Dan for sparing his valuable time to show me around his workshop.

If any forum member need a Chase bat, I can select Cleft  from the available stock Dan will have at that time and have their bat made in their specified weight

Here are he photos

Really good looking bats, can you share some price breakdown?

we see quite a lot of players use their kit around Hampshire area. The bats shown in the photo are the ones i found in their show room. The bats are very well priced

One of my ex teammates had a sumo/some. It weighed a ton and was huge.

This has really whet my appetite for our visit on Saturday!  :) Good to see a proper bat making setup at Chase and I agree, the value for money on the bats is tough to beat from what I've seen.  I just hope you left behind some decent clefts for us, Asad!  ;)

Really Asad? He is you're "really good friend" and you haven't seen him in years and have no idea what's in his workshop? Fascinating.
Friendship doesn't mean that I have to do business with him.
Last time I visited Chase workshop was about 2 years ago but that doesn't mean I didn't see Dan or spoken to him in the last 2 years. Workshop has definitely improved since my last visit

Was there really any need for that. No.

Looks great Asad thanks for sharing - I had a 175 a few years ago and it was an absolute belter until someone broke it in the nets.

My days... Some people are indeed fascinating...

Bats look great, as does the workshop. Will hopefully see a few floating around in the forum over the next few months, if not in my collection!

WOW! Can't believe what some actually decide to write on here.

I was down to the workshop a couple of years ago to have a bat made and the guys were really helpful and at no point during the afternoon did I feel they were rushing to get done. Great quality products. Still one of the best gifts the missus has ever gotten me.
