New Kippax Pure Blade
« on: October 21, 2014, 11:50:50 AM »

I was down at Kippax the other week for a few bits and bobs, whilst over there Chris pulled out their new shape for 2015. Whats peoples thoughts? It looks very Laver & Wood/ GM Zona to me, which isn't a bad thing.

Ps. Well done to Simmy, the photos he took very classy!

Looks like across between a Laver and a Hunts County new generation Insignia.

At least it's actually got a spine, not something you can really say for Kippax's of late....

Spoke to someone at Kippax last week when I was interested in a bat from them having never tried one. The bloke was just rude and couldn't have even less helpful if he tried. Personally the shape looks ok but I'm not a fan of the hump back shape personally. Also don't see many if any of there bats (stickered anyway) down South.

That's a shame Chris, do you know who you would have spoken to? I think the same could be said about Warsop (nothing against Warsop, just an example) etc, I dont see many southern brands up north.

Pics can be misleading. Looks similar to this to me, which RP call a sub-continental shape.

No mate I was asking about shapes and different grades that bats come in etc. he said we only have G1 bats and I sounded like someone that wasn't looking for the quality of bat they produce they where his words at which point I just said no worries mate I'll take my business else where. I know what you mean mate unless it's a massive brand they tend to stay local I mentioned only for the reason of not being able to try one out but as a big distributor I'm sure they play well.

Speaking of seeing them down south, I haven't seen any of the new style ones down here in Southampton, and have only seen 2 or 3 of the old dragon logo ones (which I thought were much better) but they had problems with the handles I believe.

And funny you should mention Warsop Ryan, not being a million miles from Essex (admittedly it's the wrong side of London for a quick journey) I only see the odd ones around and theyre mostly old ones (with personalised name stickers down the back for the real show offs).

Don't see all that many Chase bats either, and as they're the most local to us that's a real surprise (and shame).

Anyways back to the original post, not sure on the size of the brand used so I can't reference it, but the edge looks huge!

Saw two down in Glos this year. One 'Colossus' or whatever it's called. Both seemed decent enough bats, as good as you will get from any other small brand tbh as it's more down to the stickers you like anyway or shapes offered
