Net bat offer
« on: October 30, 2014, 03:15:13 PM »

Ok so already we are looking at practice starting after Christmas so we are needing to get prepared.
Buy a players grade bat in any range and get 30% off a butterfly1 bat. Ideal way to save that top end piece of willow from winter nets and practice nights just for matches. Can be made identical or different if requested. That's even with the custom bats discount on top end bats making it £369.75 saving you £95.25 on top quality hand crafted bats. This will end 20th December.

Why have butterflies suddenly become 'net bats', Paul?

I'd imagine because they are cheap so most likely to be used in the nets against bat breakers. The butterfly's that have been used for a season as demo's have opened up and go as well as anything

It's down to money. If I was paying good money for what are becoming rarer clefts in the grade 1 and players ranges I would want to preserve it so therefore the butterfly is a more common piece of willow so therefore financially it makes sense to use it for nets or poor conditions or friendliest etc. I never used my best bat for net practice when I was playing professionally and never leant them out either. I like to look after my pennies and my most treasured items.

Sounds good sense - mind you, some of those G1 butterflies are magnificent - loads of grains on some of them - I can appreciate that even though I'm not a grain merchant.

By no means does it make them any lesser bat it just gives financial options for those who like a top end bat to look after
