Hi!
« on: November 01, 2014, 02:54:46 PM »

I'm new to the forum. Being a cricket equipment hoarder I naturally ended up on here! Anyways thought best way to introduce myself is by showing this little gem I picked up today.

Undressed weight was 2'15 not too sure what it is now. Edges 40MM can't remember what the spine height was but 65mm+. ZERO concaving. This has the ES335 handle which has a carbon rod through it but still conforms to the MCC regulations. Charlie does an amazing job and at the prices he's letting these go it's an absolute steal! Anyways I'll let the pictures do the talking.

Let me know what you guys think!

Welome to the forum buddy.
Is that shape based on a railway sleeper with a scaffold pole through it for a handle?
Huge lump of tree buddy, hope theres plenty of runs in there for you!  :)

Haha thanks! Yes it does pick up well Chad! I'm not too fussed about weight tbh as I can use it - and at the standard I play in (sub 75mph) and the slow spongey wickets you are hardly ever going to be late for a ball or anything so having something a bit bigger is better!

That looks to be a seriously high middle, I imagine pick up is very good.

it does look so but I've asked for offset edges (max edge is about 175mm from toe) so it goes prettly well down low as well. Also the toe is 30mm thick at the edge and 40mm at the middle (same with shoulders)

That was my first thought!! Is it the angle or is the middle closer to the shoulder than the toe?

It still looks to have massive edges low down and a very thick toe.

haha well the apex of the spine is smack in the middle of the blade. But because of the offset edges there is a very even distribution of wood further down the blade.

This is what I sent Charlie to be reproduced. I never thought it would come out so light because of the sheer volume of wood in there though!

Pretty damn close I reckon!

To me that looks rather like the old style Kippax that Jim Love used to punish the ball with. Lovely.

To me it looks like CF has cheated. He got a cleft, gave it a light sand and put some stickers on it!

It's massive! Best of luck to you and hope it brings many runs!

That's just MASSIVE... And I'm digging the unique profile. Welcome to the forum and enjoy your stay! What tends to happen though is that the longer you stay, the more bats you'll have...
