New Keeping Gloves
« on: November 14, 2014, 02:19:38 PM »

I'm in the market for a new set of gloves.  I'm a 6"2' keeper so need large mens size.

I've had M+H T1's, these are the best gloves I've had to date.

At the moment I'm thinking either Gray Nicolls Legends or another pair of T1's.  Would love to get the 2014 editions rather than paying the mark up for the 2015 models...

Anyone elses thoughts?

Can any of the Forum sponsors get these in for me?  Large mens are notoriously difficult to get!

I can sort you out with GN Legends or the new GN Omega XRD gloves in large mens.

I would also recommend the GM Original LE, lovely gloves.

I have been trialling the B&S keeping gloves for 2015, i believe we will have some available in large mens. Very nice gloves too.

There is always Kookaburra, TON (that i wore myself for much of this year) and Salix too. I can help you out getting large mens from most if not all of these brands as well as a few more. Can't help with M&H as we don't stock them anymore.

I can recommend the Ton gloves having used a pair for the last two seasons. I too am in the market for a new pair for next season. Currently the new pittards ton or county aura are my favourites. Depends on the price of the former as I don't think they will be cheap!

I have the new prestige gloves from GN that I got from Jake and although classed as club level there as good to me as the Legend gloves.

I also have SS professional gloves on the way. Last year I used Salis and Warsop gloves And I must say the Warsop gloves are that good I got another pair of the super soft purple camo gloves this week and there still my favourite fitting gloves.

Hmm, thinking the Legend gloves still.   I have been recommended them by a very good source...

Are the 2014's exactly the same Vitas? (Jake?)

Can't find the M+H T1's in large mens for love nor money anywhere.

Just as a further addition to this thread.

Jake at Vitas has been particularly helpful and has ordered my gloves directly through Gray Nicolls for me.

Customer service is extremely valuable and not to be underestimated.  :-[

I've found the biggest problem with Jake's customer service is that it's so good I keep buying more off him.
It's cost me a small fortune over the last 12 months...

I had Gray Nicolls Legend gloves this year, they are the same for next year. Really good gloves but I found the grip wore out very quickly. By mid-August they were pretty much useless. I might have got a duff pair though. I'm going for the XRD Omega for 2015 and hopefully they will last a bit longer. I'm pretty loyal to Gray Nicolls.

How do the new GM LE gloves fit, are they snug? And do they take much wearing in?

I've been trying to get some more keeping gear and have heard rave reviews for a few brands let alone within this post  ;) Very unsure because of the variety but based on aesthetics I'm quite persuaded to go for the GM's, Vitas are you able to post up some pics of the 2015 GM LE pads & gloves please?

Anyone have any idea when Gray Nicolls Omega XRD in standard men's size will be available? Currently netting with Legend gloves that have as much grip as my woolly gloves  :-[

No date listed on the GN online system yet, but i will call and confirm with them in the new year, they were saying February when i last spoke to them.

Very little wearing in, the leather is lovely and soft. Will have to check and confirm the fit when we are next open, i'll post some photos too.
