Looks lovely. Great job
When you say "quick polish", what was your method?

Came up as £50 buy it now,, So I did immediately.  Clean up was as follows, some wont agree. First a very mild detergent in a damp sponge, gets of most ball marks mud n dust wipe dry immediately. Most bats have been oiled so wont absorb any water. Hair dryer to soften unwanted facesheet and unwanted stickers peeled off in one piece. Keep gentle heat on and scrape of any excess adhesive with side of old credit card. White spirit to remove any glue left over. Very fine wire wool to clean up and smooth (if you start using sand paper, however fine, you really have to do the whole bat to get a consistent finish) Then a nice polish with some home made bat wax. Beeswax 99p off ebay melted and mixed 40-60% with linseed oil.

Wow that is a good deal. Salix's usually go for much more than that on eBay. Good find mate!

I didn't sand it as Salix bats are so nicely finished already that you want to avoid spoiling the finish. Most other bats I would have.

Wow, that was a good deal.  Thanks for advice Kippers, I've got an old bat or two that could do with a clean up so I may follow your method.

Bare in mind this bat was in pretty good nick to start with. I have a ropey New Balance on the way which I think will be a full strip down sand polish and sticker jobbie. Will post when I do it. Dare say there are batmakers on here who have far better knowledge than me for tips on this kind of thing.

PS I would only re-sticker a bat with what it was originally. Cant be doing with people who pretend that its something that its not. If I cant get the correct stickers I would rather leave it blank.

I totally agree with the stickers.  Can't be easy to get hold of original stickers though is it?

Ironic I will probably be buying fake New Balance stickers on EBay to put back on a real New Balance Bat. Cant quite work out the ethics on that one?
