Ooh god I've just been asked how many grains I prefer. I have no idea! I have an Aldred with 20+ grains and I got on well with one that had six...

Go for a happy medium of 13?
Or ask for anything between 6 and 20 and see what you end up with  :D

I said around 15.

I've gone for a dynadrive shape in the following spec: 2.9 but can go up to 2.10 max, so somewhere in between there fully dressed would be ideal. With the balance I prefer it to be in the middle really, I got on quite well with an Oblivion so similar to that with the swell. One grip on a round handle is fine and grains wise something around 15 would be excellent. I don’t mind a bit of heart wood on the outside edge (RH) but not too much. Large bow in the bat with a toe guard and scuff sheet.

I'm unashamedly excited already!

Sounds exciting. I's quite like to see some pictures when you get some.

Apparently I can't get the Dynadrive in the grade on my voucher, so I've gone for an F18 less the danger stickers.

I wasn't aware there were different grades of batmaking experience!

Yeah there is two, 5 star (£225) and Ashes Special Edition (£275). Presumably the experience is the same, the difference would just be what cleft you get as your bat.

That's a bit wanky! Id've wanted the Dynadrive myself. F18's seem a bit girly, whilst Dynadrives seems a bit 'grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!! Yous gonna get sum punishment!'

Yeah I was disappointed about no Dynadrive but I'm sure I'll end up with a good one anyway.

Received the bat last night, here are the pictures:

I haven't weighed it yet but it feels a tad heavier than the 2.10, will do so tonight probably. Taps up ok, not as nicely as my Aldred did out of the wrapper but in my experience GN bats tend to feel quite hard but still go well. It needs a lot of knocking in before I can test it out in the nets though as a few strikes with the mallet left indents.

I'm not really too sure why they couldn't make me a Dynadrive out of that cleft but I am looking forward to having it ready for use.
