Got this at my club after Jodi Fields broke it and left it at our clubhouse (Play at the same club). Can see why as it is pretty much (No Swearing Please), but me being ever the optimist, thought I'd try fixing it. It's a small mens and is very light, got some nice grains on it too. Pictures:













I have glued and clamped it, but I just think it'll be a very nice backyard cricket bat haha. Still fun to have a go though

Couple of dowels and it'll be fine!

The only issue is that the crack goes right up the front of the splice, so not sure how to dowell, unless I did it at an angle?

I think the stuff I use is 6mm I think but that's just because it's what I had when I needed to put a dowel in haha

The glue has taken well and I had a hit with it in the backyard last night. Still feels pretty solid. My drill was flat so didn't put dowell in it yet, but wasn't sure whether to do it edge to middle, or front to back (or back to front)?

Edge to middle would mean I'd have to almost drill into the splice/handle, so was thinking front to back but not sure if that's the way to go.

I glued, sanded (rushed job and not sanded very well as I probably won't use it) and then dowelled the bat. Came up pretty good and feels pretty solid. It's really strange though, the bat is small men's, but the blade is the exact same width and length as a normal SH bat, the handle is just a few cm's shorter.

Great job on that one buddy, just needs some new stickers and you'd never know it had been broken

Looks good. I had a similar repair to do on one of those short bladed, long handled mongoose bats. The split on that bat went up the handle so I undid the binding to above the split and applied glue to the binding as I wound it back on. That worked well and it's still going strong even after several aggressive net sessions and games.
