I like the idea about maximising coverage. Video not working for me, can others play it?

I have been following Dave's B3 designs and feel as soon as he comes across a low density cleft he comes up with a plan (supposedly new design) to grab it  :D

If I read the measurements right it's a 15mm toe and an 18mm shoulder. 15mm seems a smallish toe to me. Would be tempted to reduce the shoulder to 15mm and put some of the wood back into the spine and extend the middle towards the handle. I do think bats pickup better with the wood around the spine straight down the line of the hands from the handle. I would be concerned about the bat twisting on impact.

What's fascinating is the ability to tweak the concaving in certain areas. Traditionally most bats have the same level of concaving all over. I have a bat similar to Dave's where the top and bottom are more concaved than the middle. It maintains the edge profile but ensures the middle of the bat get's the most wood.

The 1271 taught me closer to the hands the better so shoulder is best for the pick up for me. As for toe I prefer it as it is but hopefully will get better shots when finished

Dave, very nice to see the finished product. What is the edge and spine size?

Dave I agree that was a wrong word, was just kidding as when you see a low density cleft you draw a new design, nothing serious mate. As mentioned in my earlier reply I love this design.

Its on the blueprints 39.5 cm edge 56 cm spine. It says it should be 2.8, but im unsure if that's dressed.
