The IPL used to be bloody awful, I assume it's improved but I stopped watching after the novelty wore off you realise just how tacky the whole thing is. The English comp isn't bad to be fair, and the Big Bash is good cricket. Was impressed last year, every side had at least a couple of proper pace bowlers and most a good quality spinner, played on quick pitches. Very good for a domestic tournament.

I agree with the Big Bash comment above. For me it's easily the most watchable 20/20  comp to watch, more of a contest between bat and ball than the tedious circus that is the IPL, also think the commentary team they've put together is phenomenal

Is it the cricket that makes he big bash good or the atmosphere (seems jovial and not serious) and the commentary team being so good?? (Oh add in some legends like flintoff, KP, hussey still involved)

That first 6 from KP was just effortless. Timing to perfection

The atmosphere and packaging of it is a big contributor to making it an enjoyable watch to be fair, but the cricket on show is also solid.

Bit of both I guess, the pitches are better in my opinion so that helps with a contest between bat and ball rather than a game of glorified baseball. Add that to the fact that I dislike watching cricket in India as I find the continuous din of the crowd annoying, it like having 50,000 five year olds round for a birthday party

2nd 100 in a row (off 45 balls this one) and can't get in England side

Not that I'd have accepted it in his position, but he'd have taken on that ODI/T20 consultancy job I wouldn't have ruled it out...
