South Africa won the third Test by 8 wickets and clinched the series 2-0.

Dean Elgar scored an unbeaten half century and saw the job through with Hashim Amla.

Big news after the match was Alviro Petersen announced his retirement from international cricket. Shame the last couple of years where so poor for him as he contributed a lot to get the Proteas to #1. That 180 against England probably his finest knock.

Sticking up for an opener with an average below 35?  Pretty sure you'd brand a Pom a failure for that?

pretty sure there are about 5 posts from Gerry saying he should be dropped, if you read the thread.

Please can we not just bait people for "sport"

Thanks

Haha, no worries.  I don't read every thread from start to end, I just read the latest messages from time to time!  Just wanted to address the frequent pom bashing!  I don't take things personally and find it more funny than anything else  :-[

Definite gaylestorm here.

Amusingly the commentator said you can't go in the power play in sa conditions. You have to wait and explode later.

79 for 0 off 6 says otherwise

Amazing striking from Gayle.

On a side note Andre Russell must be the worst player playing internationals consistently.

Now that's Ryan Mclaren's been dropped.

Tahir bowled well but makes himself look a goon running around screaming after getting a wicket when his team's getting stuffed.

Couldn't agree more. What a prat! Celebrating like that when your team has been smashed.

Neither Amla or Philander are in the T20 plans.

de Villiers, Steyn and Morkel are being rested from the ongoing series to give the youngster some international experience.

Miller robbed of a maiden T20i half century, he deserved it today (and had his bat not bounced probably would've got there!)  :(

Faf's hitting them well though
