Looks like you've had affinity delivery as well

Been here for a few weeks now mate :)

Is there any offers on lower grades or is it g1 only?

Will need to confirm the G2 and G3 price as we have never done them but they are available.

Butterfly is £105

Not far away, it is actually modelled on a Woodworm that the customer (a forum member) sent me some photos of. Tony was even good enough to dig out some original Woodwrom stickers from a drawer somewhere and i have popped them in the box if the customer wants to apply them.

Top bats. I popped over to see Tony and Co yesterday to pick up a net bat for my son.

Well I've had a few nets with mine now, and it goes like an absolute gun - never have I hit a ball further! Absolutely love the bat, and for £165? it's an absolute steal. No stickers adds to everyones interest too. May have to get a second one so that I'm not using my match bat for loads of nets!

Good to hear mate, always good to get feedback on a purchase. Hope it serves you well. :)

A little off topic, but the bats in the showroom are all without cover. Will that not dry up the bats in winter?

I think the showroom is temperature controlled so no need for covers, as long as it's room/ideal temperature me thinks.

Not sure what you mean by 'without cover' ?

I have never been into a cricket shop where the bats are not displayed on racks in this manner. I don't leave the window open in the showroom for humid air (in Summer) or fog (in winter) to drift in and affect the moisture levels inside. And unlike other retailers that i have visited, we don't have a great big heater fan blowing hot, dry air at the bats.

Sometimes bats can be on the shelf for quite some time (months) and with us they gain/lose hardly any weight, if at all.

Hope this helps answer your question :)

I didnt mean that its the first time I have seen it. And you are correct, all retailers put the bats on the shelf without covers.
The reason I made that post was becasue I go crazy as soon as the winter starts. The bats are oiled and wrapped, stored in a corner where the bat is not exposed to dry air (especially from the heater) :D
And I was wondering if I am overdoing it especially when i see bats on display in showroom without covers. The winter dry air makes the bats dry and once that happens there is no way to fix it.

I'm not sure I would describe the air in the winter as dry in Peterborough.

I wouldn't say you are overdoing it, looking after a bat and wanting to maintain it is a good thing.

  • If I only could bat....

As Jake says,  nothing wrong with wanting to look after bats,  but the humidity in the UK doesn't vary that much season to season due to the maritime climate. It's always relatively damp.
